Living With Vista: Part 1
« on: January 06, 2008, 05:41:43 AM »
Okay, its a VERY common thing on forums around the web, people :censored: and they moan about Vista, problem is often its things that can be fixed half they time by the absolute noob.

Part 1: Disabling UAC

Its the most common complaint about Vista and its very understandable, that annoying little dialog box that comes up for the simplest tasks such as opening a word documents. But just as it is annoying, it is soooooo simple to disable ;)

1) Open up Control Panel, and type in user account into the search box

2) You'll see the link for "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off". Click it.

3) Uncheck the box and reboot computer when prompted, thats it, your done!!! Now wasn't that easy!!!

Tune in to the next episode where i introduce you to two pieces of software you simply cannot live without ;)

People bash vista not because they dont have it, but because the fact its slow, buggy and incompatibility issues (most of which have been fixed). I personally don't like it just because its slow with all the aero effects but that can be changed. A lot of things I dont like about vista can be edited in the settings, im mostly just to lazy to, that and the fact of the slow boot up and shut down times.
