Hey

just to start off this is not for console wars i love consoles and have been saving for both 360 and ps3.

ok so i decided to save for ps3 first and was going to get it in the new year during January sales in case it was on offer. so i go looking now as you do when you want something at the Christmas packages to find that there aren't many places in the UK selling the 60gb versions or even taking back orders. so i thought thats strange and go and do a bit of looking it appears that in Europe SEEE have decided to stop the 60gb better more compatible version of the ps2 once stocks run out and replace it with get this a crappy 40gb version that wont support any ps2 games which to me sucks major ass. so if you are out there reading this Sony i am not impressed and i know you hate people importing your consoles into the UK from other countries as you are able to rip off and overcharge your loyal UK/EU customers but its seeming unless i can find a 60gb version like i will be forced to import one of your 80gb version from the US for a probably the same cost you charge in the UK for the 40gb version hence i will then have to import any Blue-Ray movies signed to Sony BMG or any other record companies cheaper from the US and earlier than released in the UK. in fact this could turn out very useful and cost effective for me if i decided to do it so actually i thank you sony for you crappy customer service. enjoy sitting on your new DS3 controller kind sirs

yeah, like, i freakin love the ps3, mainly because of mgs4, therefore i find wii and 360 inferior to it (so technicaly i am biased :o )

but srsly

they SUCK
they are STEWPYD
heck they even shut down lik sang, i may love thier product but they really really really suck

yeh it has seriously annoyed me. i have over the past 2 years in my head been planning a nice but sleek and gorgeous set up for our TV room and it is slowly coming along.
i got the HD TV, the HD satellite the

the

slim cable the computer cable to plug my laptop into.

all i need now is 3 things

1. PS3
2. 360 Elite
3. Yamaha YSP-1000(i think)

and now sony go do this which sucks shweaty xmas balls

It's not Sony that charges high prices in England, it's the import tax your country has. Heck, even if I sent one to yeah as a gift they would likely nail you with a high fee for importing the thing into the country.

And that whole thing about Lik-sang was because they were importing consoles illegally, which of course was illegal so they got shut down....

its probably because they have to cut back on costs
even at 699 it was still puttin them in the hole

now just imagine how much 399 is puttin them back
but they have to compeet with wii and 360

so they have to make sacerfises

Whats the point of importing an 80Gb to play PS2 games, then you would have to import all your PS2 games, and the 80Gb isnt that good at playing them anyway (i got a 60Gb and the 80Gb uses the same crappy software compatibility that hardly plays any games)

Deal with it, its marketing, they felt that no one was using the BC, the Memory Card Reader, and 4 USB Ports, and to cut the cost even more, they cut down to 40Gb.

No Point crying about it, its what companies do, and i think the 40Gb is inferior, but not because of BC, because of its loss of a Memory Card Reader, the Space and 2 USB Ports.

Even if the PS2 games did work on the 60Gb, they still looked crap, with random jaggies, black areas and cutscenes that didnt work, so for me they have made the line better.

It's not that they felt no one was playing PS2 games, they felt that if they prevented people from playing PS2 games on the PS3 then they would buy more PS3 games...

I have a NA Launch 60 gig PS3 and it plays games beautifully, AA and smoothing. FFX and XII look amazing on my HDTV with it.

it isnt just the BC that annoyed me its the loss of ports card reader and space that annoyed me most as i have all my movies on external hdd and i was wanting to put linux on it so the extra space was going to be good for me.

LOL, My mate here in Birmingham brought a 60GB PS3 2 days ago from asda

i just came from asda - im going on the hunt tomorow - to get one - i just know i will regret it lol as sods law says as soon as i buy one sony anounce like a 100gb one for europe for £150
