Battery Pack
« on: February 22, 2008, 11:13:22 PM »
i have double A batteries laying around there rechargeable i read on the side of one and it says 1.2v/2000mah so what i wanted to do was hook this all up and hook up a female usb 2 in the 360 controller so i could recharge the batteries with just plugin it into the 360 usb port but the 360 usb port throws out about 5v how can i reduce the voltage to lets say 1.5v?

I think you can use a zener diode or a couple resistors...

they make a thing just to lower voltage. It is called a regulator. I dont know if they make them for that low but I'm sure if you look they might. Just a warning, sometimes you need a heat sink...

yes, its basically what aditya said. What it is, is a block of aluminum or another type of metal, with fins cut in it so that heat goes into it and the air will cool the block making the regulator cooler and more efficient
