windowblinds or VistaXP

i don't recommend using VistaXP because it replaces the core files on windows and the restoration can go unsuccessful, windowblinds is a way better alternative even thou u have to hunt the best vista skin, u can have the benefit of also using other skins downloaded from their website, i used both before and VistaXP messed up my icons for good.

I don't personally trust windowsblinds, mainly since I've noticed a  number of computers that use it with serious slowdown problems soon after, but that's just my 2 cents. You can either use that, use vistaxp, use what big eyebrows is using, or get yourself a hacked one which I don't recommend since it's illegal and I mentioned it only as a possibility   :winker:

i would now not like to recommend VTP,

it has been causing annoying issues like game startup... games wouldnt startup and i had to force power off
after that, i would try to log in but get stuck in the boot screen or disk check untill the 15th boot...really lame

i took it off and now im back on alienguise, which i never had issues with and those seem to be resolved...
EDIT: i take this back, it seems a boot camp thing was the issue not my schweet vista looks

im not paying for windowblinds....

i can get basically the same results with a combination of Vista Transformation Pack 8.0.1 and the following programs:

ViOrb (comes with vtp)-vista start orb
ViStart (still not the most stable, newest version, as vtp has older)- vista's start menu
Thoosje's Vista Sidebar (latest, as vtp is older)- a good vista sidebar replicator
True Transparency (latest 0.9, as 0.8.6 has viorb issues that cause crashes)- program that adds aero effect to the windows
Glass2k (not with vtp, latest build)- transparency of taskbar
Styler Toolbar (not with vtp) -gives the vista explorer toolbar to xp's explorer
LClock (with vtp, works fine)- replicates longhorn's taskbar clock. nice utility as clicking on it pops up a calendar

with all these, yes, its a lot of background processing, but my machine can handle it and it looks super nice

recommended...just make sure you can handle it first

hey if you can find a vista theme for it i use
stylexp
it comes with a lot of themes and it backups all your os files before applying a theme and you can change logon, bootscreen, icons, make start menus transparent allot of stuff
