XBOX fan mods

Does anyone know the size of the fan in the XBOX and can it be replaced with one from a PC?


I wanna do a fan mod but I wanna keep it clean and not have to cut up the edges of the fan mutch if not needed.

ur gunna have to buy a fan and cut it,once i get my clear ghost case i'ma puttin in this awesome fan i got

fromn what ive always known, you can buy replacement fans for the xbox's, ones that come with leds and stuff already built in, i can look around to find the actual size but thats what i would do

yup i tried to find some,they're discontinued on llama and xbox-modchips,from what i hear they're one awkward non-standard size

I seen some XCM ones but they werent on a webstore type site and that was it. I still have no links on any so I guess I can plan in the future to cut a bit.

i cant remember the size but if you can find the rite one all you need to do is cut one of the corners and it would fit normally trust me ive done it loads of time but not for ages so i cant remeber the size off the top off my head

yeah ur gonna have to go with an 80 mm fan..i did taht and the result is very nice

HOWEVER

it IS a pain in the ass to get it in. u have to cut some of the fan, as well as ALOT of the HDD holder thing.

if u want, ill post some pics of how much and where u have to cut. let me no if u want them

Thanks, I now how to cut them but the only ones I found around me wont fit and dont have the post going across for the clip to hold onto.

I guess I could use these but I found a good site that I might go with instead now.

o yeah, dont bother with those posts, i just cut em off. Becuase the 80mm fans fit nicely [relativly speaking] inthat spot once the posts are gone. But if u find led fansthat actually fit, let me no

The fans have a weird shape that I doubt you can find. One side is way smaller than the other, I dont recal ever seeing fans with the tapering shape before either besides a XBOX.

yeah ur best bet is the standard 80 mm led fan. looks nice, but it does require u to shave a good about off with NO loose of funtionality

My choice is being that of asthetics. To me, with a clear case switchng to a LED fan looks nice.

The XBOX fan is a weird size. The front is close to 80mm and the other side is different. What size both sides are I dont exactly know off hand.
