I sleep about 4 hours a night on school nights. My stock time is about 12-14 hours. That is, if nothing wakes me up.Getting little sleep increases the chances of developing mental illness such as schizophrenia and paranoia. It allows your brain to process all of the information you took in throughout the day and this way you remember things better. The next day, you will be more active and will be able to function more effectively. Your nervous system will stay healthy. There are probably more reasons, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
