desktop keyboard to laptop?

i am trying to make a desktop keyboard work on my laptop so ive stripped it down to the original conection (not sure what its called) and it has 4 wires just like usd is there any way to make this keyboard a usb, and by the way its an old dell keyboard, thanks in advance

Dont waste your time because u cant convert a ps/2 connection by just adding in a USB port, you'd have to get a converter at like newegg or something butkeyboards arent even that expensive so u can just go buy a usb one.
