probably not, laptop cpu's are solderd on. but whats the make / model??

also core 2 duo with is quad core.

lol i couldn't resist, i have no experience working on laptops, but i cant believe that its easy. witch is why would get a new one

Core 2 Duo is Dual Core (Hence the Duo part, Duo - Two) Core 2 Quad is a quad core (and as of yet, not hit Laptop territory.)

and most quads are not true quads. 2 real cores and 2 virtual cores. what we need is that 8 core that is in the PS3
