Soldering Through Hole 101
Low Quality for 56k
Here is High Quiality for broadband
Materials:
1: Solder
2: Flux Paste
3: Soldering Iron (15w beginners 30w advanced)
4: PCB (Printed Circuit Board)
5: Through Hole Componants
Step 1: Arrange the through hole componants in there proper position on the PCB once there properly aranged proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Flip the pcb over then carefuly bend the through hole feet outward so the componant is firmly secure in place making soldering to PCB very simple.
Step 3: Apply flux past to the feet and pcb board so as the solder will stick to both surfaces. Now place the tip of the iron on the PCB surface to be soldered. Now with the solder touch the sorounding area until a bead forms be careful not to apply to much solder or to get solder on the surrounding pins. Clean the tip of the iron between solders to prevent a cold solder joint. In the image all points on the left side are correct solder joints. In the image on the right are comon mistakes points 1 & 2 are insufficient solder in point 3 the solder was applied to the tip of the foot joining two holes and in point 4 there was excessive solder applies creating a cold solder joint.
Step 4: Once all soldering is complete use your snipping tool to remove the excess length on the componant feet. Your solder points should look like the joints above on the left side.
