what the f**** wrong with my psp now?

i just noticed that when i put my psp in standby the power light would flash then go off like normal but then about 2 seconds later it is coming on again(the psp is not actually on just the light and my trigger mod, they are also dimmer than normal) It does it when its fully shut off too but when its completely off the light goes on and off at random intervals. i haven't opened/dropped the psp at all. Is my power board on its way down or the ribbon cable again? I'll get a video of it
then edit in youtube link once its up.

Edit: ok i tried to video it and now it stopped doing it  :confused: any ideas?

i thought of that but i don't see how there can be.. its been fine ever since i did the trigger mod (no shorts at all) it just started doing it this morning when i woke up.

you wire was most likely placed some ware, ware it rubbed during normal use, and you finally got through the insulation. trust me form your description its a short

i was just hoping it was something else cause short finding isn't my favorite job.... I'm going to clear my desk and open it up and see if i can find it  :angry:

when this happened to me it was the power button the dam thing got stuck some how i know it was kind of stupid on my part  :faint:

well i found the problem it was a short... the ground wire from the trigger mod ended up under a pressure point from LCD cage so i guess it just took it a few months to wear through the insulation. i sealed it up and moved the wire, hope there aren't any other surprises.

remmember this if theres a short that u cant find take all the wireing out except for a few cm awy from the led or the wireing on the pb so u can just reconnect the wires when u put back in the wires(use new wireing cuz its annoying to use the old wire lol)
