Any good with softmods?

I have some trouble here.


    I just got the new XBOX since the other dumped on me and I cant get it to softmod. I am using a friends chip modded XBOX to FTP files I am not sure I can speak of S  D into a memory card on his controller. I am then going to copy the files to my XBOX but here is the problem.


   Everytime I try I come accross something new. Now I think I have it down but when I go to view the files on the card it tell me that they have no name, then when I select a specific file it tells me its a corrupt save.

Do I have problems with the data I am FTPing or is the memory card beat?

could it be your mem card that is messed up?
cuz your mem card might be corrupted by transfering files liek those
try another card, if not, then try doing it all over with putting the origional files on your xbox

Well I just got back from getting a new card cause I am possitive that was the problem,... well I was possitive but now I still get this crap! This is pissing me off. Im about to find someone I could mail it to and have the place the fils on my MC for me.

He has a older chip with a beat dash board and it really sucks so maybe that thing is screwing things up.

yeah, usually a screwed up dashboard means screwed up files, that could be your problem right there, your best bet is just to do it your self, there is many tutorials online to do it
cuz just like buying the pandora stuff, its easier and cheap if you do it your slef, and you dont have to worry about all the scams that happen too

  I did it woo hooo!!!  I was putting the wrong folders on the memory card. I should have been opening the UDATA and then place that folder in the memory card!

wow, nice job finding the problem, hope you like your new xbox, ive yet to do it but hoepfully soon i will, i just need all the files for it like you did
only prob with that is, no one else i know is a modder, soft of hard

softmodding is cool it took me ages top work it out but once oyu get its great wot dashboard u using pm me also if oyu have problems again the action replay for xbox comes with everything you need to put the files on any xbox

Thanks man I am still toying with it and all. I use UnleashX but most of my time is taken up using XMBC. I love it, I network to my computer and share any music or movies, its so cool! I just have trouble with the scripts and now I got a new problem and I think it might be my controller. You see if I go on any dash but XBMC I cant scroll.. What it does is just goes right back to the top as if its pushing the button down on its own. Now the weird part is that it dont happen on XBMC and that is why I wonder if it is not my controller. It happens on the MS Dash and all others, even on a soft mod disc if I put it in the tray.

is it just me or do movies take ages to transfer,i'm only gettin like 300kbps!

Transfer how? Mine do it instantly just about with the network settings on workgroup or what ever.

Here is what I do. I use a Buffalo USB witless adapter and I hook up my gateway to my XBOX. I then just set my PC to network with my XBOX wireless. This way I can keep all my videos on my PC and not have to worry about HD space.

After I set up my PC to network I go into video on XBMC or even file manager, find work group network and inside that is all the files I have shared on my PC. Just make sure you set all the folders or files to share.

have u tried setting xbmc as your main dashboard its a bit fiddley but good nontheless and then u wont have the scrolling problem on boot does it go funny in games

i have an evox dash then if i want xbmc i just go into applications,its to hard to run app's thru xbmc and it keeps makin em crash,great for media tho i have like 100 scripts for it but half them dont work,unleashx is kinda crappy....scratch that really really crappy,but seriously man dont run backups unless you own the game or honestly can't find it in the shops,in gamestop/eb you can get games xbox games for 3$ each so don't b a total cheap ass,get xboyadvance its awesome i love playin medabots on my big ass tv!

Fixed! The controllers back button was shot or something. I got a new clear controller from gamestop to tide me over till I get a better one some day,..huh yeah thats happening.
