DarkShot's Latest
« on: May 25, 2009, 07:23:01 PM »
The latest personal PSP I've modded

List:
-Case Swap
-Blue power and Charge
-Blue mem stick and Wifi
-Wifi switch activated fading Triggers & bottom diy clear strip (Blue)
-Internal Go!Cam w/ switch on top for USB Connection

DarkShot's Blue-White PSP

In terms of the actual way the Clear bottom strip was done, I believe I'm the only one to replicate what anthonyta did on his PSP and post.

If I crack it open later or dig my spare case I'll snap a couple pics.

That extra little hole is for the mic on the cam.

But on the opposite side of the wifi switch theres a spot where a nice small switch will fit, which is where mine is.

I had to cut away a bit of plastic, but it works quite well.

Oh yeah, the clear strip still baffles me.... Could you show a picture of the inside of the UMD door, and the bottom with the UMD door off, if possible?

Thanks guys.

The switch I used was from a dollar store toy, the same one that I got the fading chip out of.

If all else fails, go to the dollar store.

pics to help yous:

Elite: Heres the spot I put the switch just trimmed down, was longer:

<snip>

On your own for the strip now.

And heres that switch:

Thanks.

I can't right now, but I can tell you that the chip is underneath the mem stick slot, closer to the mouth of the slot.

I put it there because of where I wanted to put the camera.

your chip comes from a toy right?

how did you hook the chip to the power source..

you use resistors right??

i have some chips here but i don't know how to convert them to run on 3.6v or 5v

Yes, it's from a toy.

I used a 47ohm resistor for the voltage source, because mine ran off of about 3.6 - 3.9 volts.

Easiest thing to do when you want to find out the value of resistors you need is by using ohm's law:

R = V/I

R is resistance, V is voltage, and I is current. The current from a PSP is 20mA, or 0.02A.

To find the Voltage to use in the equation, you take the forward voltage that the item operates from (Vf), and subtract it from the source voltage (Vs): 5 - 3.6 = 1.4

So V would equal 1.4. The equation as a whole is this:

R = (Vs - Vf) / I           with numbers:        R = (5 - 3.6) / .02

Therefor R would equal 70ohms. If you cant find that exact value, than use the closest value to that.

It's an aftermarket full white case, with blue aftermarket triggers and ring on the back, and OEM buttons and trim from the Madden bundle PSP

Hey where did you buy those blue LEDs?

Shop4LEDs, an ebay store.

They got good prices, and free shipping for the SMD LEDs or other small packages.
