Malfunctions of home button caused by UMD
« on: April 12, 2008, 10:58:54 PM »
I have tried searching google and even the official forum of Playstation about this, and yet no one really has an idea on how to fix this.
To start this off, I have not modded my PSP in any ways, and just recently, the home screen will continue to pop up while I'm playing an UMD game and without me pressing the home button. To be more specific, whenever the UMD is being read in a certain manner, the home screen will pop up.

Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

remove faceplate and make sure you are not jamming the home button down

You should note that pressing the home button on the xmb has no function. The home button could still be "going off" even when you're not playing a game or watching a movie. I would suggest loading a short demo onto your memory stick and playing it just to be sure it is the UMD, not some other jam. I have a HOME button problem of my own to deal with... when im not so lazy...
Shut up, I know I am a pessimist.
