XP SP3 *strange update :o *

got it last night for my mac, (yes, it is possible on mac, just needed to add somthing to the registry, as the intsructions say)
now im on XP SP3 RC2 , where there is a supposed 10% performance increase, and it supposedly blows vista sp1 out of the water in the benchmark tests. so far so good, stuff works fine. only complaint is that Vista Transformation Pack and AlienGUIse won't work...so no custom GUI, however, for me personally i've had mine 'personalized' for so long i dont truly mind going back to stock looks

oeh well...d/l the update from the microsoft site

probably... though i just found in the add and remove program section of control panel that you can remove SP3...and i remember reading before SP3 installation that it needed to back stuff up in case it needed to be removed  so thats always an option..just take it off later


EDIT: also works with bootcamp well

i have my external display working with it nicely...windows media player (with like 16 songs because this partition is 32GB and i need teh space for games) in one, and my work (like firefox which im in now) in another

this is with the nvidia display drivers from bootcamp 2.0....so seems nice and i'm not surpirsed about the 10% performance increase, i think im seeing a bit of it myself
despite my customized GUIs, i think it was a good idea, and besides, it feels actually kinda nice being in the stock XP GUI this time

searched on google. got the microsoft official readme thing on the microsoft site, and from there i did a sp3 search and got it

its about 330 mb... if that helps you determine wether its the right one

It isnt actually the update yet... its just an overview of what it will do. If there is an acutal update download can someone post a link?

microsoft has a search feature, i searched for xp service pack 3, and got the real thing, not the document (though i did download the document too, and read it too...)


**STRANGE UPDATE**
for some reason i felt like trying alienguise agian and it worked! so far i have applied darkstar but i'll try more later
more as it develops!
(btw this is awesome! the super performance plus the GUI change :D :D :D )

development: ok my favorite, xenomorph, works :D
