Is this possible.....PSP Slim in a Phat
« on: February 23, 2008, 12:31:53 PM »
as the name suggests...would it be possible to take the inards of a slim and mount them in place of a phat PSP case

so basically a Slim PSP hardware in a Phat case, allowing for more room to add a bunch of mods (more mods than can fit in a phat or a slim)

I dont think so. Most of the parts have differant sizes so it wont work

it may be posible if you could think of a good way to mount it but after all the trouble you will not have much space left or mabe not even have a working psp  :beg:

it might be able to work if you cut somestuff and make the case so its made to fit the slim

youre just getting a faster psp with less space when you put a slim in a phat

i dont see the point tbh

I would think you would have more space, since the PSP is smaller in overall size then the phat...so you would have more room to do extra mods...but I guess really it isnt THAT much saller...I dunno, I havent really played on a Phat before

yes but chances are the mounts you will have to make for the phat case will reduce you to having minimal space left over for mods. Hehe if only you could mount a fat psp in a slim case .

This will work but you will have to aline all the peices in place which will be hard to do, but i would give it a try if you want. Just fit them properly in place so they are not loose (that will be your problem)

i dont think that you can do this, tehre would be some bolts that would not line up with the case.

I'll wait for a while as I only have 1 slim and I dont wanna risk it...when I have money I will get another slim and find a broken phat one then try it...that way if I mess it up I still have my original slim I can play on..I have been wanting to try a mod that I hadnt read about on hear...a while back I had an Idea to put R2+L2 triggers on, but thats been done now...I was sad when I saw the thread...LOL, so I figured I'd try this since I dont think Ive seen anyone try it yet...so yeah

It may work, but you wont end up having much space. I think that the parts wont be as close to eachother anymore, and this will just take all the space.

Incase somebody doesnt understand what i meant, the parts may be further apart, taking valuable space. And when tiny things get added, it makes something big lol. So you wont end up with that much space.

yeah...I understand now....even if I do get it to work....enough so that there is more room than there would be in a phat or slim(not highly likely as i22 has posted) how would I be able to prove it was the slim hardware in a phat case...just take it apart and show the insides??
