datel hdd - the question that everyone wants the answer too
« on: March 04, 2008, 11:17:38 AM »
ok the question is

will a micro drive larger than 4gb work with my datel board  :dntknw:

the answer is no  :sadno:

here are the reasons why and why not and a possible solution  :winker:

why it wont work  :sadno:
-the datel board was limited to 4gb

why it might have worked   :yess:
-the psp can cope with micro drives larger than 4gb

possible fix  :hifive:
-if the part that limits the board to 4gb is found it can be removed and will work or removed and the connection where it was joined with wire or solder

possible alternatives  :winker:

- neo 2 in 1 adapter :eyebrow:
- neo 4 in 1 adapter
- neo 8 in 1 psp pad

- modified micro drive reader for pc, much the same as the SDHC adapter mod  :dntknw:

weird experiences
- on my first datel hdd i could use micro drives larger than 4gb
- the reason why :dntknw:

thanks

ahh the age old question on pvp. i thought it required removing the umd and tricking the psp into thinking the HD is a UMD? :dntknw:

maybe

but the thing to do would be to find the 4 gb capper and remove it i did mention this in my first post but i dont know where it is and i dont really want to remove every single one separately because i may damage the board or piece that i take off, i was looking for some schematics or something but i cant find any
