Specifics on sound mod
« on: March 05, 2008, 06:00:47 PM »
I have done the sound reactive led mod a couple times but I have had troubles with the chip heating up. I have 2 different types of LM386 chips, a 6V/250mW and an 9V/500mW.  I am wondering if anyone knows which one would be better to use with the mod.

hmm how much current runs across the sound mod? Can't be any more than 1 Watt cas thats like psp battery pack... i would say the 9v but i am no expert with the sound mod (me myself am just installing my first LM386 into the psp). Get some fact sheets off the net on your two amps and see what the heat will be if you run it at psp voltage.
