For educational purposes
« on: March 10, 2008, 05:09:09 PM »
Ok as I said for educational purposes I want to know your definitions of a "ban". I dont want a regurgitation of the acidmods rules or anything I want your opinions.

Anything that isn't just your definition will be deleted. You have been warned.

Well,to me a ban is not allowing someone to do something. That's what I've always been taught it as.

Ban-
1... Temp-ban- when someone does something wrong on a website that causes their posting privileges to be taken away, can also be considered a suspension.
2... Perma-ban- when someone's action(s) lead to them being permanently banned from a website.

A ban is a form of law that is placed upon something, a decree if you will, that prohibits further action in a further subject or area

When applied to a website see Reapers picture then definition

a ban in my view is where a higher ranking person with privileges to make rules and take action prohibits something or someone from performing an action that breaks the set rules or etiquette.

i am not responsible for what i do or my advice

As a noun:

"The perma ban placed on edhel was awesome"

As a verb:

"edhel was banned"

Prefix Attributive Adjectives Involving Verbs

"Edhel was perma-banned, after several tempa-bans"

The same for Nouns

"Edhel deserved his perma-ban"

Verb Coupled with interjective particle

"Alas edhel was banned"

And finally, an interjective and a preffix attributive adjective and a verb

"Ugh! That edhel is an ass, we should perma-ban him!"
