Help
« on: March 19, 2008, 11:28:59 AM »
Well, I just built a comp  last night but there is one problem. When I hookup my monitor and try to install windows the monitor never finds a signal. I tried hooking up my laptop to the monitor and the monitor works.
This is my monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001259

Someone help me, this is my first computer build  :cry2: :beg:

make sure everything is connected right and that the monitor is hooked up to DVI port one.

Also what are the specs of your PC?

Plug the PC Monitor into the VGAS output on your mobo, then GPU will need Drivers.

Everything is connected properly, but here are my specs:

I purchased this barebone kit:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16856101045
I have Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
GeForce 7950GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported OC Edition Video Card
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB DDR2 SDRAM (2 x 1GB)

Today my friend is bringing his Graphics Card over to try it instead of mine.

Plug the VGA cable into your Mobo's Port, as that will always work.

Do you even have a VGA port on your mobo. If it doesn't have integrated graphics then no you won't have one.

It might be something other than your video card, is your computer even booting up at all?

Well it doesn't have windows installed but if you mean just powering up then yes. All the fans work and when I insert the windows CD I can hear the HD working.
