Linux on PS3 What distro

Okay my grandparents got a PS3 and i need to install linux on it.

but the problem is should i go Yellow Dog or PS3 ubunto.

and does it run most java script on the internet?

that is the only reason they want linux is to view pages on the web that they cant on the PS3 XMB. (medical records to be exact.) LOL

well ubuntu for the pc is very good and comes with firefox built in and is generally a very good linux so i presume it will be just as good on the ps3 - however i have never used yellow dog so i dont know what its like

ya Ubuntu is my first choice i have it on my computer as well as three other distros. but sony says to use yellow dog and they approve of them but i will go for Ubuntu because they come with a whole lot more and are more user friendly. specially for my grandparents.

Get Ubuntu, it's a lot better than yellow dog in my opinion. Also you can find a live CD for the PS3 to download although i forget where.

I would say Yellow Dog as it has a distro specifically for PS3. You'll get access to all 8 cores! :P And all of the 512MB RAM! :P

There is a modded version which defaults to an SD Res, and one to an HD.

IMO i have ubuntu on my and its decent, kinda slow, but manageable, yellow dog really sucks i cant stand it!  :faint:
