Logitech Steering wheel
« on: February 21, 2008, 11:05:46 AM »
Ok so I have a USB logitech PS2 force feedback steering whee,l it's not brand new but it does the job =P

Basically the force feedback isn't working anymore  :cry2:

Any ideas or solutions anything will be helpful to get this thing back to its former glory =P

Also if anyone knows of a good NEW USB steering wheel for the PS2 so I can get a nanother one that would be great cheers.

It givesd the feeling of real steering like the wheel centers itself ans the steerign gets stiffer the faster you go and you feel it etc... Steering wheels are awesome get one!! =P

also this one you dont feel the driving experience if that makes sense its like using an analog stick you press it one way and the car will go but you jsut dont get back well the feedback =P

Actually force feedback is purely to do with rumble im fairly certain

because they sell ordinary controllers with the "force feedback" buyline and they aren't steering wheels :P

the centering is to do with how the steering wheel works electronically, you know how ps2 joysticks have 2 pots on them? Well the steering wheel has one of the pots, the X/horizontal axis, and thus, like a steering wheel and a ps2 joystick it flicks back into the centre

now im starting to waffle instead of helping GAH! Chances are if you've been doing some serious racing one of the wires may have come loose on one of teh rumble motors, there will be a positive and negative wire for each motor, there is usually two, just solder whichever one back where it belongs

hope that helps

Try blowing the end of the usb cable and the ps2 usb slot or it could be the usb in the ps2 that needs to be replaced or try using the 2 usb slot in the ps2.
