EL Wire usage?
« on: April 30, 2008, 04:36:45 PM »
First of all, I could think which section to put this, so I chose this one.

Now my question, I know that EL Wire uses an AC current to produce the glow, but usually need to be attached to an inverter to convert the 12v/5v DC to be used by the wire.
Can I attach the EL Wire directly to a 9v AC power adaptor, without the inverter? Is this a safe idea?

robin is right. el wire will only light with a high frequency ac voltage. hooking it to your power adapter will not work
