Ebay PIC programmer
« on: July 01, 2008, 03:45:37 PM »
Well I am in the market for a cheap programmer and was wandering if anyone new about this one:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300236517318&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RCRX_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=300238361645&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184&_trkparms=algo%3DCRX%26its%3DS%252BI%252BSS%26itu%3DISS%252BUCI%252BSI%26otn%3D4

Obviously it is not the best programmer in the world but would it work for programming a spitfire mod chip?

Has anyone on the forum had experience with this model?

Finally, is this a reasonable price for a programmer, I need it to be USB and I need the software, the main reason I chose this product was because of the plastic case, all the others look a little flimsy  :fear:

thanks,

-ifrgt

I believe Acidmods offers the chips pre-programmed. This is the best route for you i think.... They are asking 8$ a chip give or take... and to use a serial programmer on XP is a decent sized pain in the ass. If you only want to make this one mod.... They are offering an invaluable service to sale the chip at 8$.
