DS lite - ribbon cable problem
« on: May 03, 2008, 07:08:40 AM »
I just picked up a ds lite yesterday, and the tiny black ribbon cable clamp? for the touch screen is broken off

not the entire piece off the board, just the plastic that clamps the cable down

is there an easy fix for this without having to get a new main board?

A few people have had this problem. You can try a few methods. Mainly taping it down, soldering the wires from the ribbon to the pins by the clamp themselves, or honesting getting a new mobo which would defeat the purpose of buying the lite. I don't know exactly how the methods work, but when the other memebers who mentioned the methods see this, they can probably mention it to yah. I know the tape method was in another thread around here, so I'll try searching it.
