ok i just did a sound reactive led on my psp and for some weird reason it turns on but doesn't react to sound
idk wat i did wrong if u need more detail let me know

yes i think i did the black is neagative and the grey is positive right
another funny thing is when i move the wire a bit the color changes to orange/yellow/green

lol i think ur wiring might be wrong, double check, and BTW i'm trying to do the direct connect to speakers, any idea on where or how to wire them to?

i think u need 10 ohm resistors  :dntknw:
and just straight to the speaker use the search button that is wat i did to get my tut on the chip style

I got resistors already just no LED's because there is so many, i know i have to use the 0603 SMD but the voltage and brightness and other stuff is confusing, that's what i need help on,

and these guys say u don't need a resistor if ur wiring directly to speaker  :confused:

if you wire direct to speakers your leds wil burn out after a while try the 0805's better that 0603's im tring to fix the tut for you on the trigger mod but cannot fix the sound led one

Yea that's true and they say u still risk burning them out,

and are 0805's more resistant or are much bigger?

I'am guessing they're much brighter than the 0603's and are much easier to solder to, here check this guy's PSP, he did the direct connection as well.

You said you are using a chip right? I dunno why people say that is so much better, ive tried both, and if anything, is just more of a hassel, i dont think it looks any better. Use a direct connection, and If you are using blue LEDs, no resistors are needed, cause they take in about 3v, but the red only take in like 1.5V, so your gonna need som resistors for those. You said they werent reacting, you probably just wired wrong on the chip or got a screwed up chip(i dought). you probably have the 5v and GND right, but probably have the speaker ones wrong.

so no resistors for blue LED's, how about a sketch or Picture on where the direct connection has to go, and do i need to wire both LED's positive and negative conections to ONE speaker or can I wire One LED to 1 speaker and do the same for the other?

Yea, the tut is great but im wiring them to the speakers directly,

thanx guys i got it to react but it kinda sucks cuz u can't see it but might be my volume so i will have to see
and i will have to try the direct connection wit my next psp i got the mobo and some other parts just need other stuff
