AMD 780G Chipset 3-Way Crossfire?
« on: May 23, 2008, 07:24:21 PM »
I'm looking to purchase a AMD K9A2GM-F-V2 780G Motherboard and I know you can run the integrated GPU with a discrete one in Hybrid/Crossfire , all I want to know it it would be possible to run the integrated with 2 discrete GPU's? So its kinda a 3-Way Hybrid/Crossfire.

Just for info this is what I'm looking to buy:

780G Motherboard - $90 AUD
Dual Core AMD Processor - $75 AUD
4GB of DDR2 Ram - Around $80 AUD
ATI 3870 GPU - $199 AUD
ATX PC Case with PSU - $40 USD

I'm going to reuse some of my computers components, such as my Hard drive ect.

No, the 780G motherboard utilizes Hybrid Crossfire with the integrated graphics which allows you to use it with another ATI discrete graphics card. I was wondering if it would would with two discrete graphics cards, I already know it works with one

EDIT: Never mind, Worked out Hybrid Crossfire only works with budget ATI Cards

Yeah, but having too weak ass wimpy GPU's in Crossfire will do nothing, hell, 2 mid - High power cards barely increase.

Really, SLi and Crossfire are a rip off, even more so each card you add.

Buy one 9600GT (Much better drivers from nVidia) Or even a 9800GTX and spend the rest on a better intel Dual Core
