psp hard drive questions

Hello,
well I have been thinking a lot about this video http://exophase.com/psp/psp-internal-hard-drive-mod-2941.htm and I was thinking about just having a external hard drive with a long cord so I can have a lot of memory for isos and stuff my questions are 1.do I have to have a specific hard drive for it to be able to recognize it 2.would I have to use an IR shell like the guy in the video if I am using 3.90m33-3 cfw 3.does any one have any tips with this kind of stuff any help is appreciated

That one was a fake.

It is being worked on, but it is NOT easy. The drivers for it are like trying to write a complete custom firmware all on your
own.

I have seen a prototype running of something different. It will be plug in (No mods) and will give you up to 64 gig of storage.

It will be internal and it will not draw very much power.

I can't say any more of it for right now so don't ask.
