Quick question about the trigger mod
« on: June 02, 2008, 05:36:56 PM »
Hey I was wondering, in the trigger mod tutorial, it says that it's easier to scratch the trace so it's easier to solder, and there's a picture that goes with it, but it's extremely blurry. Could anyone give me some detail about how to go about this or a better picture? Also, where should I put the wires? I haven't actually opened up my psp yet, still waiting for it to ship, so if it's really obvious then nvm...

Thanks!

When it says scratch the trace, it means scrap the green paint off the copper part that your soldering to, or if you don't want the what ever you working on to funtion anymore then you scratch the trace all the way through the paint and copper, like for the hold switch mod. As for the wire placement anywhere the wires fit without interfering with anything else.

But it says I'm soldering to a hole....or do you mean scrape it from that hole? Soz, but I'm actually only 13 years old, so I don't know too much about soldering...

Just scratch until you see copper, then you can solder to it. Always use this skill for future soldering

I second that. Most of the tutorials should see you having to scratch some trace so stick at it

Also, don't dive into mod's with out a very good knowledge of what you are doing, That way you won't stuff anything up
