you're running the older tiger of OSX

tiger can be complain-ey, and often will not allow resizing of the boot drive, while leopard will (at any time too, even in disk utility)

I already booted off of my macbook and did that to my Mac Hd And it still does not work.

would you recomend I upgrade to leapord?

Okay Well I took your advice and I am now Running Leapord  :yess:

I paid 129.99 at bestbuy for it.

So I instaled it and i am on it now and I ran bootcamp and partitioned the hard drive and tried to install vista. The install was "sucessful" but it wont boot. :dntknw:

Can bootcamp run vista ultimate? I am thinking about just installing XP pro.

yes, i could've used ultimate, but, too much bloatware, so i put on home premium

did you do the boot thingy?
w/ the vista CD in the drive, turn on your computer while holding option, your mac should boot into a screen where your mac HD icon and another HD labled windows comes up, hit the right arrow to select windows, and hit enter and it should boot to that partition,
from there install windows on the partition labeled bootcamp after partitioning it...vista should install.... then later after its installed and you're at the desktop, take your leopard CD and put it in to install the drivers

install
restart
and go to apple.com to update bootcamp to 2.1 (unless your leopard cd instals 2.1)

if that was not detailed enough i can elaborate more :)

hmmm

what kind of mac do you have?

also, in the mean time, what migh help too is chekcing out apple discussions

go to apple.com
support
hit discussions
hit 'apple+f' to bring up the find function of safari, and type boot camp, and it should automatically take ou to where it says boot camp
click boot camp
find a topic where one might have a similar problem

that might help, in the mean time, i have to ponder...

Okay thanks. I also have a sort of off topic question. I have a macbook ( the machine I just installed Leapord On) and my warranty is out on it but on the front I have 2 chips in the case on the very front where it has chipped off from just regular use. How much would apple charge to fix this and is there a possibility of them doing it for free because this is such a common problem with a macbook?

$600

i'm not joking

any 'user damage' is not covered at all, even w/ apple care

I had read somewhere that people had gone to apple stores and just asked them to fix it and they did but if they are going to charge me  $600 then they need to be giving me a new macbook. I am thinking about just selling this and getting a macbook pro. Do you think it would be worth it?

i have a macbook pro and it is AMAAAAAZIIIININNNNNGGNGNNNGGNGGGGGGGGGGG

i love this thing

but then again, you just bought leopard for 120$, so since you just spent so much, squeeze the last out of your macbook, sell it in a few months, and get a macbook pro

you'll still get a good bundle for your macbook, as macs retain their value well

Okay so I fixed It

EVERYTHING works including bluetooth and finger scrolling. My only problem now is that on startup it is giving me an error that lasts about 3 min that says it needs to be fixed with a fdisk tool.

but Windows vista runs okay even with these specs

Core Duo 2ghz
1 gb of ram
80 gb hd
Leapord and Vista

I am extremely happy that it is working correctly.
Even the sound function keys the brigthness key and the eject key work.

I am installing the creative suite now. If that stupid fdisk error would go away I would have like a 12 second bootup instead it is like 2 min 12 sec lol
