you need a inverter that converts 5V DC to 120-200V AC (alternating at a high frequency) so far i have only been able to find one inverter small enough for the job. even then you have to strip the casing off of it.

The link has some extremely small inverters to run the neon el wire.

They have nine different colors.

Switch the output of the inverter and you can pulse modulate the el wire.

Wrap Red / green / blue el wire together and tie that to the output of the AcidMods sound chip and you have three color pulsating el wire in your PSP

Now thats different !

From what i was aware, you couldn't have a el-wire sound mod as it doesn't work. was told F00f00 tried but didn't get it to work. might be wrong tho.

If you check their site you will see that they have a sound driver for the el wire they sell for 12 volts

Its very big.

I talked to them about how to take the smallest inverter driver and sound mod it. They told me how to do it.

I have ordered some parts and will do a schematic for the driver so other people can do it.

Nope I just have a wild curiosity and I don't sleep much.

So I research everything and if I don't understand something I send an email and ask.

So I was just passing on the information that I was given  :w00t:
