Xbox live help.
« on: April 22, 2008, 03:21:19 PM »
Well.. ok this is kinda weird, my friend just bought live and a wireless bridge because he isnt close enough to plug it into the comp. so, anyway, we had to enter everything in manually to the 360 under network settings, and when we tested it, it could not pass the DNS test. we only put in the primary one, because that is all that was listed. when we tried using the same one for the secondary, it still fails the test.

Anyone know what is wrong here?

have you tried running the computer wirelessly to make sure its set up right?
also, do you have the xbox wireless adapter? cuz it wont work wirelessly w/o it, and before you ask, yes you pretty much do need the xbox licenced one for it to work right

His computer works fine, and he got this thing:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8648403&st=xbox+360+wireless&lp=1&type=product&cp=2&id=1195599766962

A guy at best buy said you can use it to hook up to live
