xbox live cam mod idea

well i just got my cam in te mail today and i had a idea
i saw the light around the lense was greeen, and i wunderred if anybody had changed it to blue becuase that would look so much better, i looked in search but found nothing, so has anyone ever changed that light to blue?

try dissembling it and see if its a 0603 and if you have a blue one swap it out

lol, well i didnt see any screws and its a ring, i dont think it would be 0603, so idk
i dont want to pop it open and bust it, i want to sell it so yea lol, but if its safe and been done b4 i want to mod b4 i sell

I tried opening mine...either it's got invisible screws I couldn't see, or it needs enough force to break a brick to open that sucker up. There's screws on the bottom of it. Take the rubber ring thing off of it. After that, I've no clue.

hmm maybe just run it over with a car or somin and see how it opens up like drive fast as hell and when your about to run it over lean your body down near the tire and see how it opens up lol. remember use eye protection!

if you can take it apart replace the led's for infra red ones and take out the IR filter in the lens so that it can see at night meening you can play it in the dark

I found this Tut online on how to open it there where no images :

To take it apart you pull the grey piece off of the lens. Once out of the
way find something flat and not sharp to prey open the main body by
inserting it into the crease around the sides and twisting. Its a little tight
but it will come out.



After that there are only 4 screws holding in the circuit board but you don't
need to remove that to change the LED's.



Changing the LED's are pretty simple to change once your in there.
You can follow llamma's tutorial on how to remove SMD LED's and
solder them in. Just use a multi-meter on the diode function to check
the orientation of them.

omg lol, i gotta take it apart, how many leds are there, i only got like 4 blue leds

ok after looking i found oly 2 leds!!! wtf, my damn work table was way to cluttered with stuff thats not mine >.< i lost my led holder and only found soldered leds to a wire... im mad but i will take it apart anyways

well i found this tut with pics, i just got to figure out how to pry open the faceplate of it, it sais to use screwdrive and get the little clips to snap on the inside and i hear the snapping but it wont open, and its putting these dent tings in the plastic!!! value down >.< do you guys knoow wut i can put in there to open it? thx

hmm lol, didnt think of it, its just a razor blade will put more of those dent things in the cam


EDIT: nope not working, it just denting the cam more
