Starting my own LAN Room/Cafe
« on: July 13, 2008, 04:35:08 AM »
I'm getting 20 PC's or so in the next few days and I'm going to set up a LAN Room in my house. I'm using SmartLaunch which I've payed for and set up already, I would check out the trial for this program as it is amazing! I'm making a custom theme for the client PC too.

The PC's aren't top of the line, I'm getting them free of charge. They are out of lease and where going to get thrown out so I asked for them and got them. I plan to upgrade them a bit after though

How exactly do you plan on playing good games like CoD4,Crysis, etc. on not so good hand-me-down computers?

Good luck on your LAN room, if it is set up well it could be great fun.

I got 6 computers from a friend but I can't do anything with them since I don't have spare monitors.

I've been thinking about it and I've decided in stead of saving up money to buy new components on them, sell 10 them and use the money to buy new components on the others. I've already got enough buyers and will have enough money to make them work great

I've got some more info on them, they are Acer's, 2.6 or so Ghz, 2GB ram and the GPU is in the Geforce 7 series.
