? about rapid fire

was just wondering whats the best way to do the rapid fire? ive done the no chip method but sometimes it fires really fast and other times not so much... also are there tutorials on the different methods? couldnt find any except for the no chip method.

theres the no chip, the several pic versions, a 555 timer [either wired to a relay or a transistor]
