i hate to bring up old treads again but i just measured the back of my psp slim and it was approximately or exactly 2inches = 50.8 mm. Im planning on making a psp jewel, and was wondering if i could use a lasercutter to make the jewel (of course i can change the power setting) and if anyone one know what power setting i should put it to.

ok noobish question , but as i've never used a jewel. Does it fit inside the steel ring or is the ring removed ?

first , u remove the ring , and then u cut the door , with a dremel ,or jigsaw or some power tool which has a cutting Disk , then u fit the jewel in , its up to u if afterwards u want to puth ring back on

ok thanks 4 that pranav but what i really want to know is that will putting the ring cut off the design on the jewel. I'm talking about the jewels available in jewel shop here on acid mods

No , then design will be engraved so...no chance of it coming OFF , its there forever

dude you are not understanding. Is the inner diameter of the ring greater than that of the jewel design. If i have a jewel with say , a dragon on it and i want to place a ring around it , will the ring still fit..... Is a jewel the same size as the psp logo inside the ring originally on a psp ?

sorry for misunderstanding , anyways the jewel size is 52 mm , it takes up the full ring , not the PSP thing in the silver ring

So I'm looking for a jewel too, is this what your saying? I'm not understanding your convo so the 52mm is all the way across the big circle? or is it just across the middle plastic part where is says PSP. I want to know the diameter of the middle part that says "PSP", is that the 52mm?

the full ring is 52mm, the inner is 45 mm
