Umd Ring of light question
« on: August 11, 2008, 06:02:04 AM »
Hello everyone!

I've been modding for awhile now, but i've never made a ring of light. What is the best method to make a one? i've seen a few but i'm not sure which would be the best way.

Thanks but i know how to wire them. it's the cutting of the umd door that i need really. like how do you make the silver disk fit in place after removing the platic underneath. is the ring dremeled out and replaced with another clear one so that the outside and inside parts oif the ring glows?

just dremmel all the stuff behind the ring out and sand it smoothh, from there ther are probably a few different ways to finish it,i took a umd case and traced my ring on to it and then cut and sanded to fit under the ring as close to perfectly as i could,i did this to make it more flush and not have a big divit where the ring is, then mounted the ring in to the door take your time and try to get a nice even gap all the way around for the light to come through, then i mounted the psp logo i had from when i dreemeled out the door,if you put a thin clear piece of something on the back of the door it gives you something to hot glue all your parts to,but if you go to thick it will be a pain to close your umd door,i saw a thread here a while ago that had a vid from youtube on how to do it so you might be able to search it and use the vid

That is not really a good way at all...

I dont think i would do that

To mess take a long time and probably break the door or scratch it up.
