So, it was late last night that I came up with the idea of making my own psp hard drive. I pulled a 40GB Hitachi hard disk, Model HTC426040G9AT00 < Fits in a pack of cigarettes> from an old MP3 player <Creative Zen Touch>. My theory is that with the ribbon that was inside the Zen I should be able to hard wire the pins to the inside of the MSPD card and run an alternate power source to the hard drive. Now, say that this all works out, what you would have is a mini media monster capable of holding tons of movies, music, pics, and games all without cracking open the case of the PSP
. The question is, how do I do it? I was talking to my professor and he suggested that there would be a lot of circuitry involved in order to make the data flow from the HD threw the card and into the psp and be read. For all the people out there that don't mind not having the UMD player, the hard drive actually fits in the UMD bay <without a power supply>. Maybe the whole concept is a little outlandish, but why pay 30+ USD for a 2 GB card that is filled before there is an opertunity to blink? If anyone has any information that could help me make this dream into a reality let me know. my E-mail is nirvana_fan132@yahoo.com or you can just reply to the post.
