theoretical computer

ok, i've been thinking about this, and kinda want to start planning a theoretical comptuer

i want to do this in realistic terms, like, not too much unecessary crap, and not too much money

i want somthing nice, preferably quad-core, and in terms of graphics cards i only want (need..reallly..) one.

what would be good parts? all: supplies, cases, the whole bag EXCEPT for: keyboard (i have 2) mice (i have 2) monitor, and operating system (i hope these save me money)

also preferably all under 1000$


ideas/parts list is apprecaited :)
