PSP Phat USB Repair

The Usb on my psp is slowly taking a  :censored: and I saw a thread on here that linked to another site that you can get female usb port. What I am wondering is if it is possible to replace the usb on the mobo? If it is could someone tell me how, link me to a tut, something anything please :beg:

you can, but first, just warm up the points a little with the iron and see if that helps, if not, desolder the original port, and solder on a new one, be CAREFUL and only hold the iron to the point for 3 seconds max if it's a 15W!

Thanx I'll give it a shot. BTW just out of curiosity if I leave it on to long will I burn out the usb or something like that.

yes. You can really damage the motherboard if you leave it on too long.
