leds in buttons

Hey all,
I was wondering if there was an understandable tut for putting leds in the xbox 360 controller...I tryed using llamas guide but they say use smd leds but in the pics they show reguar leds
So I was wondering which ones I should use

SMD LEDs are essentaily the same as thru-hole(there will be tiny differences from manufacturer to manufaturer), the only real difference is package.  So if you prefer one over the other and have the space use ur preference.  I recommend sticking with 3mm for Controler mods if you decide you would rather use thru-hole.

yea also 5mm leds also work quite well with the controller mods in the abxy button but not for the dome.

    It depends on what type off led mod your talking about. If it is the led swap, then I would recommend using SMD 0603 LED's of any color of choice. If it is the ABXY buttons, I used type 3mm led's in white color to evenly luminate the color buttons. For the X button I used also type 3mm led in blue (4).
