LM86 sound mod issue
« on: October 05, 2008, 01:38:33 PM »
I hooked it up today, and at first i thought it wasnt pulsing to the sound, and was just on......

however, i realized that it was pulsing, just really faintly, and the LED lit up when iturned on the psp. so the pulse is hard to see, and almost inexistant.

Any advice?

Do you have resistors on the leds?

when doing the lm386 sound mod do you need to put a resistor between the chip and the leds?

This happened to me also. what I found was that I hooked up the LED's backwards to the LM386. It works both ways just one they will be on all of the time and blink slightly. Two the will be off by default and blink with the music

i thought LEDs were one way votaged......like they would only work with the current one way.  But turns out my volumn wasnt as high as it could go......but still they arent as bright as it would like. I guess if nothing else works. ill try hoking the leds up the other way, but are you sure thats how it worked for you krinen?

Thats what I did, but I also did not have the - of the LED going to the LM386 I had it going to the hold button. So maybe thats why it worked. Anyhow please do a your own risk.
