HELP!!!

okay, hello everyone im new. Heres my problem. today i decided to put my psp back together again after getting new buttons. I put the psp together and no power-up. but wait, it turned on just a minute ago... so i open the psp up again, and it works. repeat process... so now I somewhat figured out what is wrong, being that I cannot turn on the psp twice in a row until later, now including sleep mode. sleep mode works fine, i can turn on and off and on and off. but it wont work otherwise. it seems like a capacitor problem, but i cant see any apparent answer. should I bridge the power fuse. plz help, i love my psp, and I cant seem to get it to work. Help me

Did you do any more than just take the front cover off and replace buttons?

Did you take the LCD out and the LCD Cage ?

Tell us all you did and when you did it for us to give you an idea whats wrong

thanks for replying. i took apart the entire case before hand. It is now in a clear case, but the psp worked fine before hand. this time i took the cage off because the psp's anoluge wasnt working. but I JUST FIGURED SOMETHING OUT!  if I apply presure to the conector on the motherboard that you connect the powerboard to, the psp works flawlessly. EDIT: not true, only works when external power is in. also, I noticed that the same area get hot, could this be a hint?

Yes it gets hot because there is a short.

You have to look at all the metal pieces to make sure they are not shorting

Something is not put back together exactly perfect.

You may want to study the videos and still pictures of taking the PSP apart
and putting it back together again. That may give you a hint that something
is folded the wrong way or something is touching that shouldn't be.

Do not run it very long with it getting hot on you as you will burn something
out and you do not want it to be your motherboard.

well its not getting hot anymore, after I came back from school. weird.also, why would it power on after sleep mode, but not power after hard reboot. i cant seem to get what is wrong. i think it may be the clip on the mobo that holds the powerboard cable. I would really like some help, thanks.

Do you have access to a meter so you can read the voltages ?

yes, where should i get the readings from?
although, I dont feel as if that would be the problem...

Just check the 3.3volt and the 5 volts supplies

Usually a startup problem is one of two things.

Bad power makes the system hard to start or
bad reset circuit.

What happens when you use the m33 reset function that completely
restarts the PSP without powering it down ?

wtf. now it works, but it wont charge? but it starts up fine. also, if i plug it in to the wall, i can run it off the dc adapter. hmf. weird....

I still cant get this to work. disregard what I said earlier. that was only with one cable that has a little tear on one of the traces... all the other ones still cant work. I believe that the only ones that can help me now are the people at acid mods. Today i took my air compressor to it, and It still does the same thing

I would just take it a part a again and put it back to getter again see if that helps double check to make sure that all the pieces are were they should be and all the screws are tight. and don't triple post
