LED mod ..need help
« on: September 26, 2008, 01:22:55 PM »
Im planning down the line on making an LED mod on my slim.

LIST OF THINGS I HAVE
4 - SMC led (3 blue, 1 red)
60/40 solder wire
solder gun
wires (in relative size from thin to think)
15, 20, 30 ohm resister
psp slim (duh)

what i want to do?

i want to wire some LED to the right and left trigger bottons but i dont want them on all the time and i dont have the money to make them sound reactive, so i cant do that.. (or can i O.o hmm!)

i want to connect them to a switch but dont know if i should solder them to a hold switch or wifi..seeing i usually keep my wifi switch always on...

if i do make them sound reactive i can't just go out and buy the 5,6,5 chip (what ever the number chip its called) and i dont have a credit card or a paypal account so i can't even get them on line (sorry im broke).

I was thinking why not connect them to the Speakers that are build in to the psp, the current can cause a palsing effect right? (SMC led i think use less then 1 to 3 volt )

But if i do so will it make them sound reactive?

Can i connect them to the speaker and the wifi switch so i can TURN them on and off when i want..

is it even possable??

(sorry if this is to much to read, im on NOS )

Yes you can just connect them to the speakers. But you will need a dip switch so you can turn them of and on. You can't connect them to the wifi and make them sound reactive without using the chip.

Well, I haven't done too much with the speakers, so later today I will have a look at doing it another way..
I will make images later when I am finished with my current project.
Baiscally you sever the trace to the wifi switch after the capacitor. Connect the end of the capicitor to ground. Then wifi is always on.
Then there is a plane which needs to be isolated, then you can use it like a normal switch.

oh ok, quite a few poeple would be interested in that setup. so if you can post a few pic's, it would be appreciated. :)

Okay Sorry I havent got any pics yet,

With the wifi switch, when it is flicked up (on) it connects pin 1 to pin 2.
When it is flicked down it connects pin 2 to pin 3.
So if you isolate pin 2 from the plane which its pad is connected to, and sever the trace to pin 1, and connect the capictor on the trace to pin 1 to the plane of pin 2 (the part of plane which isnt severed and isnt connected to pin 2) then you get wifi always on. Then you can use pin 1 and pin 2 like a normal switch.
As i said pics when I am finished with what i am doing.

Or i could write some simple PIC code to do the same thing.

wow thats alot to figure out @.@

hmm so if i connect a lead to pin 1 (sence the ON possion is pin 2  to pin 1) it would set the current flowing to the LED to the speaker...wait wont that cause a short cause im jumping?

hmmm or is it i have to connect it to pin 2..then it will always be on cause 2 is the (+)?

@>@

ill wait for the pics im really confused
