just wondering, but does 1.8mm leds work?

Ive actually heard people saying they used them.

As long as you can get them to fit i don't see why not.

They need a higher power consumption though. So if you decided to do the direct connect they may be slightly dim.

Yea if you can fit them in itz all gud. Watch out though general the bigger the Led the larger current it will draw meaning it may run you batt down faster than say a 0603.

Ya it will be a bot dimmer but not noticably. I've hooked 5mm white LEDs up to the speakers and it worked fine. I've also hooked up a blue 3mm one and it worked also. Both were pretty bright. So I'd say go fore it if you can get the LEDs to fit.

nope I have used them the 1.8 mm red leds at radioshack are super dim not worth installing they are like 20MCD if I rember correctly but you can fit the 5 mm 3000 MCD LEDs if you sand them down and drill out the triggers real good Ive done it that way.
