Is the powerboard broken?
« on: October 02, 2008, 03:33:13 PM »
Hi I'm kinda new here and I'd like to know if anyone can help me cause i basically was playing and i don't know what happened i was chasing someone who was taking my lock and then while running my music went off so i checked to see if everything was alright with my psp so i turn the psp on and it only blinks green for one second and turns off. I've searched numerous topics about this and many say that it's either bricked or the power board is broken. the thing though is that the battery works perfectly with my friends psp but on mine it doesn't. also when i put the battery to charge it charges like a normal battery.

So things I've tried:

- leaving the battery out for 5 min then putting it back in.
- taking out the battery and using only the ac adapter.
- opening up my psp and make sure the powerboard connection is good.

Please help me I got this psp as a present and well it's only been about 3 months with it and i don't want to break it already. I just want to know if i have to buy a new mobo or powerboard.  :help: :beg: :help:

It sounds like the battery just...died.
That's obviously not what though.
Everything checks out okay? Nothing's loose or anything?

That's strange. It won't brick from listening to music... but it does sound like a brick.
I'd say maybe bridge the power fuse, but wait until someone else has some advice.

The powerboard should be fine. If it wasn't, I don't think it would even turn on.

the same thing happened to my friends psp.... i had installed some sound reactive leds in it.... he opened it like 10 times after that ......... he played music and his psp just died.... nothing seemed wrong with it... all connections were ok and stuff and somehow after some days it just worked.... its weird it just dies out sometimes and works again after some time.  :x: .... i suspect it to be static elec or something,

thanks chase for this sig =)

Put mobo in another psp to test if it works.
