My friend from school can get me free computer parts, so I'm redesigning my computer I want to build. I'm making a list for the really good computer and hopefully my friend can get me parts (C2X, 9800s, etc.) and stuff. I'm also making a not so expensive but good list too incase she can't get the best stuff. My question right now, can someone find me a good PSU that will work with a QX9650, 8gb of RAM, a 790i Ultra (20 + 4pin connector), and 2 9800 GX2s in SLI?Thanks!
LOL.and, yeah if I get a 1000w one I'll need a case that will fit it though...Will the Antec Twelve Hundred fit a 1000w psu?
With that said, I like that PSU. The power connector is a 20+4 pin. The motherboard uses a 24 pin connector (my bad, I put 20+4 pin at the top). Will it work with it? Or can I just buy an adaptor? Also, for the PCIe power connectors. I would need two 6 pin and two 8 pin. Will that PSU's two 6 pin and two 6+2 pin connectors work? *editIn the pictures it showed it had two 6 pin and one 8 pin. If the 6+2 pin won't work, could I add another 8 pin?I want to make sure 100% this will be fine...*editWait, are the 12v rails the 8pin? I think so... If so, the Corsair one is rated for SLI and it has two 12v rails. But it says it has six 6+2 pin. I'm guessing I could use just the 6 pin connector and leave the 2 pin unplugged?Lol I just need this cleared up. I'm not the best when it comes to PSUs XD
seriously if you can get free computer parts you should have some giveaway drawing or something
