you would need to do a bad restore but its just fixible by doing a good restore. the only ways to break it ireprably would be to either damage the internals or find a way to give the hard drive bad sectors i think

Yup and even then it's not bricked, as the hdd just needs replacing. The firmware in onboard. That's why you can load up an iPod into disk mode and diagnostics mode even when there's a broken or no harddrive in it.

If it is 5 gen or 5.5 gen get ipodwizard and mess up as may of the resources as possible you will brick it to the point of no restore. You can actually mess up the recovery mode and everything. I know it is possible.

Call me a nub, but why exactly are you seeking to brick an iPod?  Isn't that usually the opposite of what people try to achieve with their electronics?
