« on: March 25, 2009, 02:19:12 PM »
Hey i'm just wondering if this is fixable and how? without replacing the motherboard :)

As you can see by the blue arrow the black plastic part in my usb slot has broken off and my usb slot is not working. Is there any possible way to fix this?
I have a psp slim 2003. and also a spare plastic bit from another psp slim but i dont know how to put it in there :P

yeah you probably could.. (if you good at un-soldering stuff).

you would need to get a new usb port and solder it onto the one with the broken port (obviously you would need to un-solder the broken one 1st.)

The unsoldering is hard to do with a normal iron, and you could mess it up with too much heat.

Could i use solderwick to desolder the old usb slot?
and use heat proof tape to insulate the area around it?

Well give it a try man, we don't know if you can or not.  Thing is though finding the type of plug for the PSP.
