OK...what happend?
« on: March 25, 2009, 04:07:32 PM »
OK so I was doing the WiFi/Mem card led swap....
Swapped em out with 6030 blue led
put everything back together and tested.
the mem card led works but NOT the WiFi.
And now the back light does not work either...WTF
The screen is working bc I can see video but the back light does not.

any ideas? :dntknw:

U probably blew the backlight fuse on your screen.  As far as the LED, maybe the small resistor is toasted?

how would I have blown the back light fuse? I didn't even touch that part of the board...
Well is there any visible things about the fuse to see that it is blown bc I don't have a multimeter. And if it is blow, how can I fix it. Thanks!

lol.. ur basically connecting each end on the fuse, to bypass the fuse. u can drop a blob of solder on it too if ur careful.

ya its small...u need to use 30 gauge wire for it. and yes when it blows, the factory bridge basically comes undone, so you need to re-bridge it your self lol....best i could explain it....

you could do it either way...I just dont like putting blobs of solder on anything I dont need to. Plus if you need to undo it for some reason, de-soldering a wire is easier than a big O' blob of solder lol..BUt really, any ways is fine. :yess:

its true i tried soldering a blob on the fuse and it doesn't really hold then i tried the little piece of wire it's much cleaner and holds better
