WIIMOTE AND NUNCHUCK MOD TUTORIAL BY TMANDT

Introduction
Ok I decided to make a tutorial on how to mod your wiimote and nunchuck so they can light up. :buttrock: Sorry if you think this tutorial is long. Tell me what you think of my tutorial ;D Ok lets get started. Sorry for the big pics ;)

Parts Needed
  • Wiimote
  • Nunchuck
  • Solder
  • 3mm Blue Led

Tools Needed
  • Soldering Iron
  • Tri-Wing Screwdriver
  • Phillips Screwdriver Set
  • Cup Cake Mat :buttrock: rofl

Step By Step Tutorial
1- First you get your wiimote, nunchuck, soldering iron, solder, etc...

2- Now you take your tri-wing screwdriver and you take your nunchuck apart like so.

3- You take your 3mm led and you solder to these points on the nunchuck board like so.

4- Now your nunchuck should look like this.

5- You plug your nunchuck to your wiimote and see if it works, if so put everything back together like this.

And there you go your modded nunchuck now on to the wiimote
6- You get your wiimote and take it apart like so

Be careful on this part take your phillips flathead and pry your wiimote cover off but dont break it

7- Now you take the board out of th casing and flip it over

8- You solder your 3mm led to these points

9- Now bend your led over to the other side and position it like so

10- Pop your batteries back in and see if it works. im my case it does

11- If it works put your wiimote back together

CONGRATS! :buttrock: YOU JUST FINISHED YOUR WIIMOTE AND NUNCHUCK MOD! HERE IS THE FINAL PRODUCT!

Plz Leave +Karma Or Gold If You Used My Tutorial Thank You! ;D

hey dude would you do the same thing for the B butten on the wiimote? like just add another 3mm led so but position it diffirently and so in total there is 4 wires on the  negative and positive? I saw another tut where he soldered the B buttens and A buttens to different areas.

Hey, I have a question.

I was messing around with an LED ring light, i took it apart and thought that maybe you can connect the chip with the LED and switch to the inside of the wiimote. Then maybe cut a whole on like the side of the wiimote so that the switch cant stick out. Thus enabling the LED to turn on/off. Would it work?

Heres the LED ring light I'm talking about.

When I get my hands on a soldering gun, I'm going to attempt it.

Yes, it probably does work, ive seen these tutorials all over the net, they just don't work on the newer Wiimotes because it doesn't have the two power point.

If someone seen a tut on these new wiimote, please post a Pict of it or something, ive been Google and havent find anything yet.

Edit:
vvv I would use a multimeter, but i dont have one that is working right now. I got mine from RadioShack for 20$ and a 12V battery, idk what is dead battery or multimeter. lol.

Just turn on your multimeter, ground one point, turn on the wiimote, and poke around with the positive end till you find some good useful points... Then turn it off and do the same. If points that used to be positive aren't anymore, YOU HAVE A WINNER!

I know no one cares any more but I'm new to modding and I used SMD LEDs for the Z and C Buttons and it works great. Here are some pics.

It's way easier than using 3mm LEDs and I got better results.
